Interesting. Apparently these power points are our midterms. Good to know. Now I have to make sure to get this done. As for what else has been happening, not much. The class feels really slow right now, especially with the extremely jammed welder, so I've been just organizing really.

12/01/2014

Alrighty. Looks like we got ourselves a project to do. All of us are getting topics related to the class to do power points on. Kirsten and I got Basic Solar. I guess on top of working on whatever calls, I'll have this to work on. Already taken some pics of capacitors and battery management to possibly put in it.

Time for more cleaning. This time of the brakes again. Gonna clean and put the breaks back together. Good to have something to do. No idea what we're doing for the rest of the week.

11/21/2014

Got the room all cleaned up again. Looking to continue on the bird cage soon. Didn't do much this week. Just some cleaning and messing around mostly. Looking to work some more on creating more scrap out of the cage next week.

New week, new stuff. Not quite sure what we'll be doing this week but we'll figure out something. Finally got this blasted battery mount done on sk2. Looking for more stuff this week.

10/27/2014

It's time to organize. With the arrival of storage boxes and shelving, we'll be organizing almost all the tools and supplies in the room all week.

10/24/2014

SO MANY TOYS. . . . that we'll never get to use :(. These AWESOME tools came in for the solar knights club members. I guess it's cool that the rest of us are getting their hand-me-downs. Came with several handheld power tools, including drills, circular and jig-saws, and some accessories. Also, a brand new welding mask that adjusts the tint of the view-port to how bright it is. And finally, an air compressor. As for what we did this week, I learned how to use the circular buffer to clean pieces of metal from the bird cage. Fun week.

10/20/2014

Looks like its time for more welding. I have no idea what the status of getting parts for SK2 is so we'll be learning some welding techniques from Jared's dad who a welder. Nice t ok be learning from a pro.

10/17/2014

Learning about these batteries today. These are the batteries going into SK2. Jack has been designing a shelf to rest them in SK2. I really can't think of much else to do so I'm just gonna help Jack for the time being.

10/13/2014

Well, it's crunch time.  Looks like we've ordered all the parts we need for sk2 to be rolling soon. Hopefully we'll be getting steering and wheels on soon. As for now, we'll be learning how to weld. I look forward to when I get a shot.

10/10/2014

We're learning how to spool mig welding wire into the welder today. Sk2 is still missing required components, so we'll be learning how to weld, which sounds extremely fun. Looking forward to it!

10/07/2014

Jared and I found something to do for SK2. Looks like it needed a new suspension setup. The old one was nonadjustable and extremely loose. Plus, we mounted the motor and the chain's about to go on. Again, everyone working on SK2 hopes the parts will be here soon. No idea what we'll be doing for the rest of the week.

10/03/2014

We got the switch put in and set up on the cart. All it needs is to be hooked up to the batteries. Since we STILL don't have parts for SK2, we'll be continuing work on the go-kart. It needs a "gas" pedal and wiring for the motor to the batteries. Hopefully, sometime next week, we'll receive parts for SK2 and can continue working on it.

SK2 seems to be missing A LOT. According to the executives, last year accidentally threw out some components. Unfortunate really, but while we wait to order parts, we can at least work on the go-kart. It's missing a battery disconnect switch so I'll be looking to be working on that with the people who have already been working on it.

9/26/2014

No good news apparently. We need new tire rods since the ones we have don't fit. We tired sanding don't the rods to mount them on, but it was useless. Also, we can't find the motor controller. So, we can't finish steering like I wanted to and this won't be rolling for a while. Also, our tires were a pain in the ass to to take off and get the tubes out. I guess I'll be looking to finding the motor controller and mounting it next week.

9/22/2014

Alright, time to work on SK2. Last week we cleaned the brake system for SK3 and found we nee new brake lines. Now we need to start building SK2. It's pretty bare bones right now and it needs everything basically. I want to see if we can get steering done this week. Time to get going.

9/12/2014

There was a LOT to clean on the right side brake area (especially because jack and I were the only ones). Gonna tackle the left side next week and see how we can fix this leaking problem.

9/08/2014

Cleaning the brake system today. Front-right wheel area is the goal today. Looks like its gonna be as dirty day. During the week, seems like we'll be diagnosing a leaking problem on the front-left brake.

9/05/2014

Well, we finally got the room looking spotless and the dignitaries are coming today so I hope the executives luck in impressing them. As for the car, SK3 has been experiencing brake troubles recently so we'll be looking to fix said brakes next week. Looking forward to it!

8/25/2014

Time to get started! It's good to be back and I'm looking forward to working on the cars and learning how to build them. However, according to Matt, we won't working on the cars until next week. Gotta clean up the place for a group of dignitaries coming to South.
